Hiware Bazar – A living example of Swaraj!

Posted by Rewa Smriti on May 6, 2010

Mahatma Gandhi’s words have got translated to reality in the village, Hiware Bazar, thanks to the wisdom and consistent efforts of the Sarpanch, Popat Rao Pawar and his team over the past twenty years. He is an ordinary man but his extraordinary determination and consistent work has gone into making his village an ‘Adarsh gaon’!

Hiware Bazaar is located in the drought-prone district of Ahmednagar in Maharashtra, 1300km away from Delhi. You may kindly watch a movie on the developments that took place at a village called Hiware Bazar through the attached links. The movie says it all.

What pleases me to see this video is that we youth have a huge potential, and can do a lot for our country if we have a holistic vision, and work collectively.

Hatts off to the Ideal Village – Hiware Bazar….!

Let me mention that I got this video link through mail recently. I must thank my husband who frequently keeps sending me inspirational movies and stories.

Appreciate the determination that kept “Popat Rao Pawar” going on! I wish youngsters who run behind materialist things learn from him.
