Blessed beyond measures!

Posted by Rewa Smriti on May 3, 2009

It is a story of a struggler which will inspire any common person. Many people fail because they just give up. He faced many problems since his very childhood time, but this ‘navodayan’ never gave up. ‘Kamlesh’ belongs to a small village in eastern UP, India. He has become a role model for thousands of navodaya children as well as for his village children.

For his mother, it was her faith in the power of life that got her through some of her darkest moments. I would give most of the credit of his success to his mother who by her courage, shear hard work and perspiration made her son to climb the ladders of success. This proves the age old truth that mother’s sacrifice never goes in vain. ‘Mother’ means the whole world to me.

I would like to share a video with my readers- “Kamlesh Shares his journey of 25 years”.

I am quoting his few words for the readers who dare to fight with struggle to achieve their goal, no matter how difficulties they are going to face!

* Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached. (Swaami Vivekanand once said)

After listening about his struggle I am inspired. I love to read such success stories and such extraordinary circumstances which give a boost to my strength. And at last I would say “do not lose hope, do not lose faith, beacuse at the end of the tunnel it’s burning bright!

    Kamlesh’s mother is a role model for his success. She has sacrificed and showed lot of patience to nurture this jewel. In this video Kamlesh showed how much he is noble and determined to achieve his goal. Jago utho aur chalte raho jab tak manjil na mil jaye. jate jate ek Allama Iqbal ka sher arz he unlogon k lye who are determined to ‘not to become a man of success but a man of value’.

    Hi Rewa,

    Thanks for sharing this. Very nice and inspiring. Yes, mother very much deserves the credit besides Kamlesh who kept on fighting to reach his goal and crossed all the hurdles in the process. I don’t think anybody really needs to give him suggestion that he does something for his birthplace and people who helped/facilitated to reach where he stands today, such humble and grounded people always pay due credits and pay back. My due respect to his mother and her pride – Kamlesh.

    Hope you are planning to come back India to develop close association with your villages and nearby… only educational achievement is not enough.. its application for upliftment of your community is your responsibility.. God always send some nice mind at all places…so that he will look after others… but He left it at yours discretion to take on that responsibility or leave…
    …Then you will be role model in true manner to school children…today our country need people who will say proudly that Bharat is my counrty.. yaha ke log hamare hain.. to develop this place is our prime responsibility..

    People like Baba Ambedkar, Subhash Chandra Bose will always inspires people to think beyond personal achievements and desires.

    kamlesh bhaiya was the first senior in IITK who met me and didnt mean to rag.At that time I hardly believed that I was talking to such a great and talented person but later words came through navodayans abt his struggles and achievements. Getting into IITK,working with Infosys,MTech at IITK, cracked Engineering services and finally career in Chicago are some of his milestones and for me these achievements are nothing but the fire before the blastoff as a lot more surprising things are on their way. What remains the beauty is that he is a very generous person. Thats why I call him “the great great Godfather”.

    The story of Kamlesh could be the story of millions in India or in any other developing countries.
    Thank you Kamlesh for sharing your struggle with all. Kamlesh is an empowered young person, who has used his abilty to think and take the right decisions to bring honours to his family and country. Let us for a moment think of Sanjay Dutt, the famous Indian actor. Here is this person who has every thing going for him – loving and supportive parents, good education, zero financial difficulties and yet exhibits poor decision making ability.Let us share this story because it shows the power one good decision has to change your life…..
