Keep religion out of politics!

Posted by Rewa Smriti on August 29, 2008

Nitin has posted a topic in his comment # 157 in discussion forum. As he wants to discuss his thoughts here, so I am quoting his views below.

Politics or religion…

The issue is government gave 100 acres of forestland to the Amarnath board,But the issue has given a communal color which makes it worse, Religion in India has always been a sensitive issue and a small spark anywhere always escalates in a big way causing irreparable damage and loss. It’s the common Kashmiri who has been worst-affected by it.The Governor heads the Amarnath board and the chief minister heads the Waqf board in Jammu and Kashmir….Then wht common Kashmiri should dooooooooooo…..

Should politics keep out of religion?…..

Wht is d solution on it….

Nitin.

I would say ‘Keep Religion out of Politics!’

Religion does not teach cruelty, injustice and hatred to others. Orissa case serves as an example for this. Also, we must not forget the Godhra riots or in Gujrat riots, many people lost their lives, their family members, and many such incidents have taken place in the country. Why do they behave like deaf, dumb and blind? These acts are worst in every sense. Nobody should harm anybody.

Religion is a personal choice and we should never mix it with politics. It’s teaches us morality, virtues and good character. The root cause of social political conflict is ‘Caste and Religion’ and no one can defend it saying “caste has nothing to do with religion”. This remains as the ground for politics.

We always talk about reservation. I am not in favor of Reservation system based on the caste or gender, but my only question is, why don’t we talk of removing caste system from our society? Just because caste and religion plays a very important role in election in India! It should be removed for ever to stop reservation or any kind of conflict.

As far as Kashmir is concerned, we must understand that Kashmir issue is ‘not about religion’. Before we arrive at any conclusion, we should keep an eye on what’s happening in Kashmir is all about politics. So, I think politicians should stay out of religion.

Note: Thanks Nitin for inspiring me to write on this topic. I never thought of writing or commenting on this issue. I keep myself far from politics as I really don’t like it.

Just an onlooker!?

Posted by Rewa Smriti on August 28, 2008

Recently I read a post on a blog written by a blogger Arun Bharti. I tired not to write anything but I couldn’t stop myself. And certainly it’s not enough to write anything about it. Anyway, I am quoting his post below.

Hero or villain

It’s an additional experience in Mumbai. That day I was going by BEST bus to IIT Powai. The bus was too much crowded as usual.90% of the passengers were ,as it looked, from labor class and were speaking Marathi. I was silent and observing people out there. At the Mulund bus stop a lady, 50 something of age, enetered into the bus.She wore salwar-kamij. She went to driver and asked “Tumne bas kyun nahi roka?” I watched and realized she was desperately waiting for that bus since long time and that frustration was well evident on her face.
“Kyun, Ye tere baap ki bus hai kya..? He said.
“No, ye na mere baap ki hai na tumhare baap ki, Ye government ki bus hai or tumhari ye duty hai ki jahan tumko bus rokna hai wahan bus roko” the decent lady replied.
Parallely the public there started making noise. “Are bhai tum chalo, kyun yese pagal logon ki baton mein aate ho..”. Meanwhile a 25 something guy went to that lady and started hitting and slapping her. He threw her “Chunni”.I was shell shocked. I felt fire in my body. Tears fell down on her cheeks. She was helpless and I felt guilty not reflexing to the situation.

After some time the bus conductor heard the incident. He informed the driver. “Kya ? usne yesa kiya ?” asked the driver. Then followed the real drama. He went to that guy and kept hitting, beating, slapping till blood came out from his face. He abused him. “ sala , jo bolna tha unhone mujhe bola , tu mera koun lagta hai, o hindi bolti hai to kya hua, wahi log mumbai or desh ko chalate hain, tum jaise noukar nahi”.

I again felt happy but uncomfortable. I went to bed but could not sleep, just kept thinking about that Bus driver.
Was he a bad man, was he a hero? I am still confused …..

Regards,
Holy-Devil

What would you call it…??? Educated? Childish? Crazy? Stupidity? Heroism? or Metro Style?

This is called Mumbai Meri Jaan!

Well, an important opinion it is! We come from a culture where pride is our ‘back bone’. Why are the people behaving this way? We are proud enough to call ourselves civilized but, are we really civilized? What does that tell us about human evolution? Are we really the people of the well cultured society?? Is our culture alive???

The above story description of this “ambient culture” style, as you call it, it’s not done. I do not blame on our culture, but I can’t believe people actually care about their culture at least once in their lives these days. We have so many protectors of our culture here…and see? I really don’t know whether to laugh or to cry.

Needless to say that it’s happening everywhere all over in India. I think people should have the guts to come out and put some real effort to prevent such error from happening in our society. Everyone deserves respect and as for here this lady deserves it at least for her age!

Posted by Rewa Smriti on August 26, 2008

Do Men really cry…???

Posted by Rewa Smriti on August 21, 2008

One of my friends said that there is a statement…”men are not allowed to cry”…He also said that “they want to cry…but the society doesn’t allow…”

Well, that becomes the question, isn’t it?

Who says men can’t CRY? Are they cold hearted people? Don’t men have emotions? They too have emotions and feelings, so the answer to the question is they do cry! But, the truth is that “men are looked down if they cry…” On the other hand, you can’t always get to see these tears. Their tears are soundless and hidden somewhere deep inside the soul!

Many times I have been asked by some of my friends that ‘is there any room for tears in a man’s world’? Also, I heard quite often that women are weak so they always cry. Yes; you can say so, I don’t mind it! But, is crying a sign of weakness? I don’t think so! If it’s so then what about the men? Don’t they cry or are they simply born to be brave?

However, the fact is that it’s tough to see where they are going behind all those tears but it happens with both men and women! Most of us do cry when things go out of control. Whether it is a VIP or the common man, the heart is the same. Sometimes, you won’t be able to see the tears even a woman’s eyes, it doesn’t mean she doesn’t cry. In reality it’s hidden inside the heart, and I think it is more painful. Also, some of men do cry more than a woman cry and you can’t say that only happens in the movies!

A real man cries, Trust me. So, there is no point of arguing about it, just see it! :)

What do you mean by स्वतन्त्रता?

Posted by Rewa Smriti on August 15, 2008

According to me, to ensure harmony within me which is naturally accetable to me is to be ‘स्वतन्त्र’ ! When we establish a system to ensure harmony in all the individuals of the nation and in their inter relationships then only the nation is ‘स्वतन्त्र’ . All of us know that this state is yet to be achieved for us.

The significance of the year 1947 is fact that Britishers finally left the India in this particular year only however, ‘भारत छोड़ो’ movement was running since 1942. So 1947 is the year we became ‘Independent’, as it is said, but in reality this is not gaining ’स्वतंत्रता’!

Swatantrata is achieved through a process of self exploration and self realization which gives the right understanding in the human being. We need to work for a society in which a system is laid out to ensure this right understanding in every human being which we do not have at yet!

If we see the state of society today, the human being is living in a state of परतंत्रता where his/her desires and activities are conditioned by external influences and not guided by self exploration. The whole education has become a way to make the individual ‘परतंत्र’!

At this stage we need to think upon this and we must take initiative to lay down a proper education system which focuses on ensuring the right understanding in every child and not just load him/her with informations and trainings. And if any such program is initiated for Navodaya, I will be the first to welcome it and work whole heartedly for it. This is the resolve that I take today. What is your resolve?

Sometimes!

Posted by Rewa Smriti on August 13, 2008

Today I tried writing something. I started with a topic, but I couldn’t able to write and I thought, I might be writing on a wrong topic which is not of my interest! Then I tried my hands on other topics but that too was left in half way. Again I picked up some other topic which was of my own interest and started writing on that but yet couldn’t finish it! Now I feel, No; all topics were interesting but something was wrong with my side!

Why sometimes mind stops thinking? May be sometimes it is fully engaged in thinking over certain things and goes deep into the related thoughts! And I need to simply say to my mind that “stop thinking too much!” But, sometimes the things are getting too difficult to handle and I feel, I am like Mahabharata’s Abhimanyu who has entered the chakravyooh but don’t know how to come out!

Well, sometimes I say to my hamsafar it means to my mind that ‘ये सफ़र बहुत है कठिन मगर ना उदास हो मेरे हमसफ़र…!’

Posted by Rewa Smriti on August 9, 2008

Posted by Rewa Smriti on August 6, 2008

Critics and Criticism!

Posted by Rewa Smriti on August 2, 2008

Criticism is good but a negative attitude of criticism is harmful. We are often criticising others but when it comes to criticise ourselves, we are strangely become expressionless. Actually, it is very difficult to criticise ourselves for the right reasons. We may be able to fool other people, but we should never try to fool ourselves. So, I would suggest try to stick to positive criticism.

Criticism means we have to be honest with ourself. It is not easy, but it is a valuable aspect of once improvement in positive way when we criticise our bad actions without feeling guilt. Guilt does not help us to improve, it can just make us feel bad. When we have become aware of wrong thoughts, we must make sure to avoid it and then we must pay attention on doing the thing in right way.

Well, I don’t mind if someone gives me some constructive critisicm along with some suggestions, but an all out putdown is never accepted. Also it’s always good to see positive criticism on this blog but I wouldn’t entertain any of my readers here for negative criticism which put me down, because whatever I am writing, am writing for my family, friends, nation, not for those who just put their fingers on keyboard just to play a blame game using ugly words! So it is my earnest request to all that if you really wish to see changes then criticise the post or comment your suggestions on posts otherwise it would be better to ignore it peacefully!

“The price of discipline is always less than the pain of regret”. We must burn this quote in our memory, and recall it whenever we find ourself being tested. It may change our life! So, we must work out what matters in life. Last but not the least criticise on the writings, not the writers!
